If asked what the most used social networks in the United States, most of you would immediately appoint Facebook and Twitter, and you’d be right. However, some of you may not realize how the race is for second place.

On Thursday, the Pew Research Center revealed the findings of a survey conducted in late 2012 and its website project.The American life post-election survey, which focused on the demographics of social media users, in 1802 respondents different. The respondents were asked about mobile phones and fixed, in English and Spanish.
Research shows that the Internet users in the United States, 67% are members of Facebook, while 16% use Twitter. This is somewhat surprising considering Twitter gets almost as much face time and recognition in the media as Facebook.What is even more surprising is that Pinterest is now on the heels Twitters, receiving 15% of Americans connected to the Internet with thematic Favorites.
